North Carolina law states:

• You are under no obligation to use the repair service recommended by the adjuster.

• You may use the repair shop of your choice.

In 1993, the state of North Carolina passed the law N.C.G.S. Section 58-3-180. This law forbids insurance companies from dictating where your car is repaired.
